Where Day One is stronger
Day One has been around for years and has polished native apps. Its end-to-end encryption means the company cannot read your entries, which MyAIJournal cannot offer while running AI reflections on the server. If your journal is mostly photos, trips and videos, Day One handles media far better.
Where MyAIJournal is stronger
AI reflections are included on the free plan, so you can try them without paying. Paid AI on Day One starts at $74.99 a year, while MyAIJournal is £4.99 a month or a one-off £79.99 for life. My Story can read up to a year of entries and point out recurring themes and changes in tone. AI only runs when you ask, so you decide which entries it sees. MyAIJournal runs in any browser, so there is nothing to download.
